Yellow Fever Vaccine Clinical Trial

Background

Yellow fever (YF) is a mosquito-borne disease. The virus causes a hemorrhagic fever, and symptoms ranging from mild to severe illness. YF is widespread in sub–Saharan Africa and tropical South America and continues to be a significant health problem to residents of and non-vaccinated travelers. There is no specific treatment for YF; however, medicines can be used to relieve the symptoms and may improve the outcome for seriously ill patients.

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare the safety of an investigational Yellow Fever vaccine (vYF) and the licensed Yellow Fever vaccine (YF-FAX) in healthy adult participants.
