Keep the College Enrollment Process on Track

We're here to help make college more accessible, offering several different ways to secure financial aid. As you review your options, here are some important things to know about financial aid from SLU:
When your student applies to SLU, they will automatically be considered for merit-based scholarships.
At SLU, we're proud to offer an education within reach thanks to a variety of options for need-based aid. To qualify for need-based grants, submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
SLU recently launched the Billiken Gateway Family portal, where families can follow their students’ next steps to becoming a Billiken. In the portal, you can manage parent-specific documents, view your student’s application status and next steps checklist, update your account details and pay their enrollment deposit. To get started, ask your student to send you an invitation.
They will need to:
- Log in to their Billiken Gateway portal (their SLU application portal).
- Click on 'Relationship Management" under Account Tools.
- Add a "new relationship" or edit an existing one.
- Make sure Billiken Gateway Family access is set to active.
- Use the "Send Invitation" button in the portal to email you an access link.
This list of next steps walks your student through every to-do, including their enrollment deposit, housing preferences, orientation and course placement.
To help your student transition to college life, Saint Louis University's ITS division has created several checklists and program-by-program recommendations for laptops and other technology they'll need at SLU.
What Is the Billiken Promise?
SLU's four-part commitment to students and families provides attainable education that sets students up for success.
Scholarship Extension
Eligible students can extend their merit-based SLU scholarships an additional two semesters, if necessary.
SLU Difference Award
Eligible students can use up to $10,000 — in addition to their regular financial aid packages — to help pay for SLU's summer or winter courses.
Study Abroad at SLU-Madrid
All SLU undergraduates can spend a guaranteed semester or summer term at our campus in Madrid, Spain. Most SLU grants and scholarships will travel with your student.
SLU EXPeriential Learning
Students can boost their resumé with free virtual internships, power-skills courses, workshops and competitions.
